Mino Obigiwasin Anicinape Child and Family Services was established to provide child and family services to its population. This follows an agreement signed with CISSSAT for the management of youth protection for the four Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan), and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin's vision is to ensure that all Anicinape children and families have a stable, safe, happy living environment rooted in their culture.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the authority of the Clinical Director and with the support of the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, the incumbent is responsible for assessing and referring selected reports, as well as implementing the Complementary Field Verification (CFV) program. The responsible of point of service plays a key role in the transition process leading to the implementation of the future Anicinape Law. In this capacity, he helps to convey information in a positive manner, in line with management expectations, and supports his team in accepting, understanding, and adapting to change, while promoting and mobilizing the expertise of people and Anicinape workers.

They are also called upon to work closely with the report reception and processing service (RTS), the responsible of the enforcement program services, reviewers, Anicinape workers, and partners from the Mino Obigiwasin signatory communities. Together, they ensure that children and their families receive high-quality, safe, and culturally appropriate services that respect the values of the organization and the culture of the Anicinape people.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure comprehensive management of assigned cases, including assessment, referral, and assignment of VCT requests, ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of Anicinape children and their families. The incumbent must also continuously monitor the quality of interventions throughout the service episode.

  • Supervise social workers, provide the support they need, and plan the necessary training. The incumbent must also assess the development needs of each employee and the team to ensure that they have the skills required to fully assume their roles and responsibilities, while promoting their autonomy.
  • Ensure compliance with sections 131.8 and 131.15 of the LPJ (Youth Protection Act) and all C92 minimum standards at all stages of the intervention.
  • Master the trajectory of youth protection services, all its processes, and the minimum criteria to be considered in decision-making at each stage.

Collaborate in the development of protocols for collaboration with front-line services, health services, and other programs or partners, with a view to providing a continuum of services to Anicinape children and families.

· Establish service pathways with all frontline services and other programs, with a view to providing a continuum of services for community members in need of services.

  • Ensure the quality of services provided by social workers, in accordance with standards of practice. Ensure that services are provided in a manner that adequately meets the needs of Anicinape children and their families, while complying with applicable legal obligations.
  • Promote a culturally appropriate intervention approach, aligned with Mino Obigiwasin's mission and values.
  • Organize innovative clinical intervention projects to meet the diverse needs of clients, while optimizing the preservation of cultural identity.

Ensure that clinical data is entered in accordance with Mino Obigiwasin's requirements.

  • Lead various team committees and staff meetings.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and other partners, including extended family and community resources, in a context of exchange and complementarity.
  • Replace colleagues responsible of the application of measures services when required.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately the objectives, mission, and changes supported by management, both to your work team and to partners, when required.
  • Be a change agent within your team and demonstrate ease in ambiguous situations.
  • Be a positive leader, capable of mobilizing your team by promoting engagement, collaboration, and cohesion.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychoeducation, or other social science discipline of equivalent academic level.
  • Good knowledge or extensive experience with the Youth Protection Act in an Indigenous context.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in the field.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Knowledge and experience in the First Nations community.
  • Ability to manage employees and complex, high-risk situations remotely in a demanding work environment.
  • Possess strong organizational skills as well as resourcefulness and autonomy.
  • Be comfortable with the risk management process under your responsibility and be able to monitor the quality of services.
  • Demonstrate innovation and openness to change to contribute to best practices in protecting Anicinape children and supporting their families, in compliance with the minimum standards of C92 and in support of the implementation of the future Anicinape law, while considering the specific characteristics of each of the Mino Obigiwasin signatory communities.
  • Be rigorous and have a strong sense of ethics.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is a major asset.
  • Hold a Class 5 driver's license.
  • Must be a member of their professional order considering the reserved acts of the program (delegation of work (section 32) of the DPJ.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week.
