Anicinape Child & Family Services Mino Obigiwasin is a non-profit organization founded on July 4, 2019, by four Anicinape communities (Kitcisakik, Pikogan, Long Point, and Lac-Simon). It provides child and family services, specifically in youth protection, with the goal of preserving the cultural identity and dignity of these children and families. Mino Obigiwasin operates under its own bylaws and policies governing its affairs.
POSITION SUMMARY
In alignment with the mission, values, strategic directions, and general policies of Mino Obigiwasin Anicinape Child and Family Services, the Clinical Director, under the supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for delivering child and family services aimed at engaging children, their parents or legal guardians, and community resources in developing and implementing solutions to the challenges and issues they face.
ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Collaborate with the DPJ (Director of Youth Protection) on the implementation of the bilateral agreement to ensure the continuity, organization, delivery, evaluation, and review of service programs under the jurisdiction of the DPJ as outlined in the agreement and in applicable legislation
- Be responsible for and influence Mino Obigiwasin’s clinical decisions regarding Anicinape child and family services
- Provide rigorous guidance and supervision to service point managers and support them in managing their staff, according to individual needs and levels of experience
- Report on the issues and challenges of the clinical departments to the organization’s strategic management committees and contribute to the continuous improvement of organizational management
- Monitor and assess clinical workforce needs
- Recommend management innovations and remain informed of best practices in Anicinape child and family services
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director in managing the departmental budget and ensuring expense control, while promoting the efficient and effective management of human and material resources, with a focus on continuous improvement of service quality
- Ensure that clinical teams apply and comply with the evolution of their practices in accordance with the development of Bill C-92
- Contribute to and oversee the development of skills and the engagement of all clinical department staff in alignment with Mino Obigiwasin’s mission
- Temporarily replace service point managers when required
- Provide psychosocial emergency on-call support (staff support), as needed
- Travel regularly to the communities
- Perform any other duties required of the position.
REQUIREMENTS
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences or have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of child and family services
- Have work experience with Indigenous communities
- Be bilingual (English and French)
- Possess theoretical and practical knowledge of the following:
- Youth Protection Act
- Adoption and Guardianship
- Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Act respecting Health and Social Services (LSSSS)
- Principles and application of Bill C-92 (ch. 24 LC).
- Be an inspiring leader capable of fostering engagement and performance

- Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week)
