Mino Obigiwasin Child & Family Services Anicinape was established to provide child and family services to its population. The organization was created following an agreement signed with the CISSSAT for the management of youth protection services for the four Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan), and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin’s vision is to ensure that all Anicinape children and families have a stable, safe, happy living environment rooted in their culture.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Advisor plans, develops, implements, and evaluates various programs, policies, and procedures to support the organization in workforce management. The Advisor assists the HR Director in matters related to occupational health and safety, labour relations, performance evaluation, training and skills development, compensation and benefits, and all other areas related to human resources management.
ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Oversee occupational health and safety for Mino Obigiwasin, including the OHS committee, prevention program, training, and record management
- Ensure the protection of confidential information and compliance with related obligations
- Lead the annual performance evaluation process (training, support, compiling training needs, required follow-ups)
- Maintain up-to-date HR policies, work procedures, employee handbook, job descriptions, organizational chart, and other HR documents
- In collaboration with the HR Director, monitor HR practices and processes, employee records, and data entry in the HR software
- Contribute to workplace well-being initiatives, manage employee satisfaction surveys, and present results to the HR Director
- Participate in the pay equity process
- Develop a training program for managers
- Assist with payroll validation from an HR perspective
- Support HR assistants in staffing processes, labour relations, and benefits administration
- Ensure the organization complies with applicable labour legislation (labour standards, labour code, etc.)
- Recommend improvements to HR services to the HR Director
- Participate in staffing processes when required
- Act as replacement for the HR Director when needed
- Perform any other related human resources duties.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Industrial Relations, or Administration with an HR focus
- Member of the CRHA/CRIA professional order
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of labour law, occupational health and safety standards, and general administrative practices
- Knowledge of Indigenous contexts (asset)
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with the MS Office suite
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Proactive, autonomous, with strong judgment and prioritization skills
- Strong communication skills and openness to others
- Dynamic and team-oriented
- Methodical, structured, and detail-oriented
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week
