Mino Obigiwasin is an Anicinape organization established to provide services to children and families, under a delegation agreement signed with the Integrated Health and Social Services Center of Abitibi-Témiscamingue for four Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Pikogan (Abitibiwinni), and Long Point (Winneway). The vision of Mino Obigiwasin is to ensure that all Anicinape children and families have a stable, safe, happy living environment rooted in culture.
The band councils of the participating communities have mandated Mino Obigiwasin to carry out the necessary work to develop an Anicinape Law that reflects the values, practices, and realities of their communities. A working team, the Anicinape Inakonigewin team, has been created to develop this project. This team operates under the supervision of the organization’s executive director.
POSITION SUMMARY
Mino Obigiwasin is seeking to fill a position for a Mobilization Officer within the team responsible for developing the Anicinape Law. The position is full-time (35 hours/week) under the supervision of the coordinator of the Anicinape Inakonigewin Team.
In accordance with the mission, guidelines, values, and general policies of the organization, the incumbent acts as an interface with the communities to ensure the flow of information related to the Anicinape Inakonigewin project. In this role, they are tasked with mobilizing the relevant stakeholders and keeping them informed about the progress of the work related to the drafting of the Anicinape Law.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and maintain collaboration with various community partners and relevant external collaborators;
· Support the organization in conducting various consultations and mobilization activities within the communities;
· Organize and facilitate consultation meetings with partners and communities;
· Propose solutions to improve the dissemination of information within the communities;
· Participate in development meetings as needed by the Anicinape Inakonigewin team;
· Organize and facilitate presentations aimed at informing the public about the progress of the Anicinape Inakonigewin project;
· Perform any other related tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
· Be a member of one of the Anicinape communities of Lac Simon, Pikogan, Winneway, or Kitcisakik (an asset);
· Be bilingual (French and English);
· Speak Anicinapemowin (an asset);
· Have relevant experience related to youth protection or a related field;
· Have relevant experience in event organization and community mobilization in an Anicinape context;
· Possess the following skills: resourcefulness, strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills, adaptability, discretion, professionalism, open-mindedness;
· Be dynamic and enjoy teamwork;
· Be a structured and rigorous person;
· Hold a Class 5 driver’s license;
· Hold a bachelor’s degree, diploma, or college certificate in social work, psychoeducation, criminology, special education, Indigenous studies, or another relevant field of study (an asset);
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week).
· Comprehensive benefits package, including group insurance with employer contributions after 3 months and pension plan (RBA) after 6 months with an employer contribution of 182%.
· Hourly premium applicable to the Youth Protection program.
