Professional Clinical Practice Development and Support Workforce Component 2

Mino Obigiwasin Child & Family Anicinape Services was set up to provide child and family services to the Anicinape population. This follows an agreement signed with CISSSAT to manage youth protection for the 4 Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan) and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin's vision is to provide all Anicinape children and families with a stable, safe, happy and culturally rooted living environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

In keeping with the mission, orientations, values and general policies of Mino Obigiwasin Child and Family Services Anicinape, the Professional Clinical Practice Development and Support Agent 2, under the AIF and ADSP coordinator, is responsible for training employees and ensuring the development of workforce skills in terms of child and family services for an innovative and culturally adapted practice in Anicinape as well as the presentation and promotion of Mino Obigiwasin's services to school collaborators, students and new employees.

ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Participate in coordinating the mandatory and complementary training program to ensure Mino Obigiwasin's child and family services and to aim for the continuous development of staff knowledge and skills
  • Contribute to workforce development by updating training and adapting to changes in internal projects.
  • Contribute to the development of Anicinape cultural trainings to improve our approach to children and families in the 4 communities.
  • Design and present training courses or workshops approved by the organization with a view to continuous improvement of practices.
  • Coordinate research activities needed to identify resources or tools required to meet clinical needs for innovative, culturally appropriate Anicinape practice
  • Participate in the design of information capsules on the Mino Obigiwasin approach aimed at practices and the integration of Anicinape culture into the clinical approach.
  • Promote Mino Obigiwasin in schools (high schools, vocational training centers, CEGEPs, universities, etc.) to attract new students, trainees and employees.
  • Create collaborative links with all external collaborators required for the execution of mandates (schools, CISSSAT, cultural trainers, etc.).
  • Any other task required by the position and the organization.

REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychoeducation or other university training in the social sciences or equivalent and 2 years' experience in the psychosocial field.
  • A technical diploma in social work or special education or equivalent and 5 years' experience in the psychosocial field.
  • Knowledge of clinical tools in youth protection and prevention programs.
  • Pedagogical skills and abilities.
  • Good clinical knowledge of child development, difficulties encountered by children and adolescents and their families, as well as the problems, issues, challenges and strengths present in communities.
  • Significant work experience with Anicinape families in an accompaniment, support or intervention context is an asset.
  • Hold a valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Be able to always maintain confidentiality and be discreet.
  • Be open-minded and have good interpersonal skills

  • Be methodical, structured and rigorous.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week.
  • Full range of benefits including group insurance with employer contribution after 3 months and pension fund (RBA) after 6 months with employer contribution at 182%.
