Mino Obigiwasin Anicinape Child & Family Services was established to provide child and family services to its population. The organization was created following an agreement with the CISSSAT for the management of youth protection services for the four Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac-Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan) and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin’s vision is to ensure that all Anicinape children and families have a stable, safe, happy, and culturally grounded living environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Financial Director, the Communications and Marketing Advisor supports the organization’s social mission by ensuring the delivery of clear, consistent, and engaging communications. The Advisor contributes to increasing Mino Obigiwasin’s visibility, mobilizing communities, and promoting activities, programs, and service development. They play a key role in strengthening the organization’s image and maintaining solid relationships with communities and partners. The Advisor works closely with the Graphic Design Lead.
ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Draft, distribute, and publish communications such as newsletters, information bulletins, press releases, articles, reports, and web content
- Develop an annual communication plan and update it regularly
- Plan and coordinate the organization of internal, external, community-based or other events (invitations, promotion, signage, logistical needs, communications, etc.)
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage and promote upcoming projects, programs, social activities, and events based on organizational needs
- Create an annual calendar of recurring events and coordinate all related logistics
- Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding aligned with Mino Obigiwasin’s values
- Update internal communication tools (documents, guides, key messages) in collaboration with the Graphic Design Lead
- Support management in preparing presentations, written materials, and official documents
- Plan, create, and schedule content tailored to various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) in collaboration with the Graphic Design Lead
- Manage and coordinate community interactions in collaboration with the Liaison and Community Engagement Officer
- Maintain and update the website and social media platforms (articles, job postings, news, events)
- Propose improvements and innovative ideas to management related to communications, digital tools, promotional projects, and marketing initiatives
- Create promotional materials (posters, visuals, videos, brochures) in collaboration with the Graphic Design Lead
- Adapt messages based on different audiences: employees, partners, families, communities, etc.
- Gather information and produce press communications in both official languages and, when required, in Anicinape
- Share and collect information during events
- Participate in job fairs with the Human Resources Department, when needed
- Attend meetings as directed by the supervisor and based on organizational needs
- Organize the annual general assembly in collaboration with management
- Adjust Mino Obigiwasin’s visibility strategy based on organizational evolution
- Perform any other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications or any equivalent training
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong sense of initiative and proactivity
- Creative, dynamic, autonomous, and persuasive
- Strong adaptability and good stress management
- Proficient with digital tools and project management
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset
- Knowledge and experience working with First Nations communities is an asset
- Class 5 driver’s license and availability to travel across the Abitibi-Témiscamingue territory
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week);
- Comprehensive benefits package including group insurance with employer contribution after 3 months, and pension plan (RBA) after 6 months with employer contribution at 182%;
