Anicinape Clinical Advisor Post-Majority

Mino Obigiwasin – Anicinape Child & Family Services was established to provide culturally grounded child and family services to the Anicinape population. This initiative follows an agreement signed with the CISSSAT for the management of youth protection services for the four Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan), and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin’s vision is to ensure that all Anicinape children and families have access to a stable, safe, and joyful living environment rooted in their culture.

POSITION SUMMARY

In alignment with the mission, vision, values, and general policies of Mino Obigiwasin – Anicinape Child & Family Services, the Anicinape Clinical Advisor, under the supervision of the Post-Majority Coordinator, is responsible for evaluating, questioning, improving, and aligning clinical practices and programs related to the development of Anicinape-Inakonigewin (C-92 project). The goal is to deliver high-quality services that reflect Anicinape values, preserve cultural identity, and meet the needs of post-majority participants, while respecting their rights and responsibilities.

ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Support and guide practitioners in clinical interventions by providing concrete tools that emphasize cultural safety
  • Contribute to the development of Anicinape Inakonigewin and ensure the harmonization of changes in practices, including the evaluation of tools, training needs, and processes
  • Participate in the evaluation of all clinical, administrative, and legal processes to ensure the delivery of quality services that reflect Anicinape values, preserve cultural identity, and meet the needs of young adults while respecting their rights and responsibilities
  • Identify, review, or design tools that align with the Anicinape way
  • Conduct research activities necessary to identify resources required to meet clinical needs and provide guidance on the implementation, establishment, or improvement of programs and/or services
  • Organize conferences with Anicinape practitioners and/or Elders and/or Indigenous educators, and develop and deliver training related to post-majority services
  • Perform any other duties required by the position and the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in psychoeducation, social work, or another university-level education in social sciences, or an equivalent qualification
  • Be familiar with post-majority programs and prevention initiatives
  • Have strong knowledge of Anicinape culture
  • Possess pedagogical skills and aptitudes
  • Have solid clinical knowledge of the issues, challenges, and strengths present in the communities and among the post-majority clientele
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in the psychosocial field
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Be able to always maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion
  • Be open-minded with strong interpersonal skills
  • Promote change, and demonstrate adaptability and risk management abilities
  • Be dynamic and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Be methodical, structured, and detail oriented.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week
