Clinical Activities Assistant Evaluation and orientation

Mino Obigiwasin Child & Families Anicinape services was set up to provide child and family services to the Anicinape population. This follows an agreement signed with CISSSAT to manage youth protection for the 4 Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan) and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin's vision is to provide all Anicinape children and families with a stable, safe, happy and culturally rooted living environment.

JOB SUMMARY

In line with Mino Obigiwasin's mission, orientations, values and general policies, the incumbent provides daily clinical support to team members, as well as field accompaniment. He/she may be called upon to develop and offer culturally adapted training content.

Under the authority of the Regional Evaluation and Orientation Point of Service Manager, and as part of the responsibilities assigned by the Director of Youth Protection (DYP), the Clinical Activities Assistant for the Evaluation and Orientation program supports the Manager in his or her duties with regard to the professional development of employees who assume the program's responsibilities, contributes to the improvement of culturally relevant and safe practices, and monitors standards of practice. The Clinical Activities Assistant participates in the assessment and analysis of the needs of the children and families who receive services from Mino Obigiwasin. He/she takes a critical look at the situation and participates in the search for solutions to help Mino Obigiwasin ensure quality service about the reserved acts dictated by the present law, while respecting the culture and reality of Anicinape families. In carrying out his/her duties, the incumbent works in close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and in partnership with local resources.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the work of the service manager in terms of quality of service and compliance with standards of practice, management of the waiting list and VCT requests;
  • Contribute to the appropriation of clinical orientations, models and approaches to culturally adapted interventions;
  • Accompany and clinically support caregivers in the application of the clinical process;
  • Support caregivers in complex, urgent and crisis situations and placements;
  • Attend and lead team committees in the absence of the department manager;
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and other partners, including extended family and community resources, in a context of exchange and complementarity;
  • Participate in the development of professional practices and clinical skills;
  • Organize and lead what? committee and participate in access tables with the rehabilitation center.;
  • Participate in Wawiya;
  • Develop and/or facilitate clinical workshops;
  • Assist caregivers in preparing for court and accompany them as needed;
  • Read assessment reports for closure or at the request of the service manager. Participate, as needed, in reading study reports on the child's social situation;
  • Support the smooth application of collaboration agreements;
  • All other tasks related to the position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psycho-education or equivalent;
  • Membership in a professional order is an important asset for this position, given the reserved acts of the program;
  • Relevant experience in youth protection intervention;
  • Knowledge and experience in the First Nations environment is an asset;
  • Class 5 driver's license;
  • Being an employee of Mino-Obigiwasin is an important asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week;
