Financial Director

Mino Obigiwasin Services Enfance & Famille Anicinape was set up to provide child and family services to the Anicinape population. This follows an agreement signed with CISSSAT to manage youth protection for the 4 Anicinape communities: Kitcisakik, Lac Simon, Abitibiwinni (Pikogan) and Long Point (Winneway). Mino Obigiwasin's vision is to provide all Anicinape children and families with a stable, safe, happy and culturally-rooted living environment.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Managing Director and in liaison with the Board of Directors, the Finance Director ensures the sound management of the organization's finances by planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Finance Department. In keeping with Mino Obigiwasin's mission, orientations, values and general policies, the incumbent must support the organization's other managers in administrative and accounting matters.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs and coordinates the financial and accounting activities of the organization;
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting-related operational functions;
  • Coordinate, prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports, annual budgets and special reports for management;
  • Manage the accumulation and reconciliation of all financial data required to accurately account for consolidated business results;
  • Coordinate the activities of external auditors;
  • Negotiate the acquisition of goods and services inherent to the organization's operations and manage suppliers (lease, IT, internet/telephony, supplies, insurers, etc.);
  • Evaluate current accounting activities, offer recommendations for improvement and implement new processes;
  • Participate in management meetings and, at the request of the General Manager, in meetings of the Board of Directors;
  • Provide management with essential information to make informed decisions;
  • Develop and implement the organization's financial policies, procedures and systems;
  • Supervise and support the accounting team;
  • All other related tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in administration, finance and/or accounting;
  • Membership in the Ordre des CPA is a considerable asset;
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience in the field;
  • Knowledge of the Aboriginal community (an asset);
  • Excellent command of French and English;
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfortable with computer and accounting systems;
  • Excellent skills in the Office 365 environment and its tools;
  • Versatility and thoroughness;

  • Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week
