JOB SUMMARY

Sous la direction de la directrice générale, le titulaire du poste s’acquitte des tâches de communications de MINO OBIGIWASIN. Les communications visent l’attractivité, la promotion des services et à structurer les communications interne et externe de l’organisation en créant un plan de communication et autres outils pertinents.

ROLE & RESPONSABILITIES

  • Write an annual communication plan and update it regularly;
  • Write and select images for the organization's communication tools;
  • Create and edit information documents for the organization's various sectors of activity (e.g.: information brochures, posters, etc.);
  • Gather information and produce press releases and disseminate them in the 2 languages of use and in Anicinape if necessary;
  • Manage and publish the quarterly Nitahîge newsletter and distribute it in public places in the 4 communities and relevant locations;
  • Update and manage communications on social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn) and the MINO OBIGIWASIN website;
  • Ensure the sharing and gathering of information about events in the communities and MINO OBIGIWASIN;
  • Create and manage the publication of job postings on the web, by e-mail and in public places in the communities and other places conducive to recruitment (e.g. CAAVD, etc.);
  • Participate in job fairs with the Human Resources department, as required;
  • Participate in meetings as directed by supervisor and as required;
  • Organize annual meetings with supervisor;
  • Adapt Mino Obigiwasin's visibility as required;
  • Improve and innovate communication services;
  • Translate job offers into English;
  • Translate documents for various sectors of the organization into English;
  • Any other task required by the position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Secondary 5 completed
  • AEC in communications or relevant field
  • Computer skills, with Microsoft suite and Adobe Creative software;
  • French and English writing skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with First Nations, an asset;
  • Class 5 driver's license;
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality at all times and be discreet;
  • Be open-minded and have good interpersonal skills;
  • Encourage change and have good risk management skills;
  • Be dynamic and enjoy teamwork;
  • Fluency in French and English is an important asset.
